She wears, I wear

There's a new song out by Taylor Swift—perhaps you've heard it: "She wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts," or some shit like that. I don't know, I've only heard it once, like a week ago in the car with Amy and Cheri and my friend Erin, who was visiting me. Erin and I thought it was hilarious and it instantly became our favorite song, besides "Jesus, Take The Wheel, I Need to Fix My Weave." We kept singing our own made-up lyrics to each other while she was here, like "She wears leather, I wear a fatty suit," then we'd laugh and laugh and Amy and Cheri wanted to kill us.

Then Erin left on a road trip to New Orleans that I was supposed to go on too, but I had to drive up to Michigan instead for a funeral, which was very sad, of course. But while we were both gone, Erin and I kept texting each other song lyrics and it was never NOT funny! So on the drive back here I thought I had better get it out of my system before I got home, and also I was bored and tired, so I made a little video.

Tub time #1

I'd like to dedicate this to Cat, who just wanted to see me in the tub.

This one's for the girls

I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before I go country. Today I was listening to Martina McBride on one of the only stations I can get in and I thought, "This isn't so bad." Then I pulled into the hillbilly gas station with a drive-through smoke shop, turned off my car, and they were blasting the same station. Nerds! One day I'll wake up and realize I've been to seven George Strait concerts and have a poster of Taylor SwiftwhoISthat? above my bed. Well, time for my 4:30 lunch!

Charleston

I went to Charleston for the 4th of July weekend with my roomies. We spent most of the time at Folly Beach, drinking beer and playing in the water. I hadn't been to/peed in the ocean in many moons. The water was warm (on its own, thank you) and the waves were pretty good for boogie boarding and for losing my top, which I did a lot, but thankfully underwater.

A week or so before we went, Amy and I had a talk about jellyfish and what we would do if the other got stung. We made an agreement to pee on each other, out of friendship, like on Friends when Chandler peed on Monica. Totally normal! So Friday at the beach, what happened? Amy was stung by a jellyfish and I had to pee on her arm. It was in the water, though, because we couldn't find any privacy on the beach, but she claimed it still worked. I probably could've just poured a PBR on her arm and it would've been the same thing, only probably less alcohol.

Saturday night we went to the fireworks show at Patriots Point, which is supposedly the 5th best fireworks in the country. They were set to a medley of songs that had the words "USA" or "American" in them. I think they were all by Toby Keith, plus "I'm Proud to Be An American," which Toby Keith probably wishes he wrote.

I like Charleston. We didn't spend a ton of time in the city, but I still got the feeling of Charleston, of the old south. I love the sultry-ness, I love the columns and the three-story porches, I love the looming Atlantic and the history. It's not like anything you'd find in Michigan or Illinois, and I like that.
